Canteen week
From 3rd to 6th February, 2026, St. Vincent College hosted a vibrant four-day charity initiative titled “Canteen week,” wherein students and staff operated themed food stalls with all proceeds directed toward community welfare. Each day featured a different cohort: TYBA and TYBCom students launched the event on Denim Day (3rd February), followed by SYBA and SYBCom on Mismatch Black & White Day (4th February), FYBA and FYBCom on Retro Day (5th February), and concluding with staff and Junior College participants on Traditional Day (6th February). Beyond fundraising, the event served as a living classroom in social entrepreneurship—students managed budgeting, inventory, customer service, and teamwork under real-world constraints, while the rotating dress themes fostered campus-wide participation and joy. More significantly, the initiative cultivated empathy and civic responsibility, as participants directly linked their efforts to tangible social impact. Through this experience, students internalized that leadership extends beyond academic achievement to include compassionate action, collaborative execution, and a commitment to the common good—principles deeply resonant with the college’s Ignatian mission of forming individuals dedicated to justice and service.
Social Analysis Cum Transformational Leadership Workshop’26




The AICUF unit of St. Vincent College led by Prof. Archana A. participated in the three-day Social Analysis cum Transformational Leadership Workshop’26 at the Indian Social Institute, Pune (6th to 8th February, 2026). The programme commenced with prayer, an aarti, and the liberation slogan “Freedom through Solidarity,” followed by Fr. Maxim Dias SJ’s exposition of the Constitution as a people’s instrument safeguarding dignity and democracy. Day 1 concluded with participants assigned to six functional committees and guided through the Examen for reflective closure. Day 2 deepened historical consciousness through Fr. Selvin Raj SJ’s narration of AICUF’s legacy since 1924, while Prof. Gladstone Xavier employed case studies to demonstrate constitutional application, and Fr. Mervyn Fernandez SJ explored psycho-socio-spiritual discernment between consolation and desolation. Participants reflected on instilling hope amid despair and engaged with senior AICUFer Ms. Rashmi Gowda DN before a vibrant cultural evening celebrating India’s diversity. On Day 3, Dr. Gladstone Xavier facilitated state-wise PESTLE analysis to decode socio-political realities, while Advocate Clifton Rozario emphasized informed electoral participation. A panel of State Animators shared grassroots leadership challenges, and Fr. Anthony Dass SJ addressed digital citizenship and media discernment. The workshop culminated in an inter-religious prayer, certificate distribution, the solemn reading of the Constitution, and a collective rendition of “We Shall Overcome.” Throughout, St. Vincent College students demonstrated committed engagement across analytical, spiritual, and collaborative dimensions. The experience fortified their resolve to embody justice-oriented leadership grounded in Ignatian discernment, constitutional values, and solidarity with marginalized communities.
Participation in Inter-Collegiate Conference on “Critiquing Systems”




An Inter-Collegiate Conference on “Critiquing Systems” was held at Jnana Deepa Institute of Philosophy and Theology, Pune, on 6th February, 2026. The event began with registration at 9:00 a.m., followed by a welcome address by Br. Jerome and a keynote speech by Rev. Fr. Bhausaheb Sansare SJ. The inaugural lamp-lighting ceremony marked the formal commencement. At 10:30 a.m., Jolen Mendes and Neal Fernandes, SYBA students of St. Vincent College, presented a paper on “Teacher Burnout and Emotional Management,” examining workload pressures and emotional stress affecting educators. During the subsequent panel discussion, they addressed questions on motivation-induced burnout and proposed practical solutions including emotional awareness and balanced workload management. After lunch and informal interactions among participants from various colleges, the conference featured a musical performance led by Br. Mario. The event concluded with certificate distribution and the singing of the National Anthem, highlighting critical reflection on systemic challenges in education.

Student of St. Vincent College Felicitated by Police for Courageous Life-Saving Act


St. Vincent College proudly announces that Mr. Prathamesh Agarwal, a meritorious student of the M.Com programme, was honoured by the local police authorities for his exemplary act of civic courage and compassion. On 9th February, 2026, while travelling on a public road, Mr. Agarwal witnessed a woman suffer a sudden cardiac arrest while riding her scooter. Demonstrating remarkable presence of mind and empathy amidst widespread bystander inaction, he immediately rushed to her aid, arranged for emergency transportation, and personally accompanied her to the nearest hospital, ensuring she received timely medical intervention that ultimately saved her life.
In recognition of his selfless service and embodiment of responsible citizenship, the Pune City Police formally felicitated Mr. Agarwal acknowledging his contribution. His actions reflect the highest ideals of human solidarity and ethical leadership that St. Vincent College endeavours to nurture in its students.

St. Vincent College organized an enlightening session on the Union Budget 2026 for commerce students on 7th February, 2026, featuring Dr. Vishal Bhaware as the resource person. Dr. Bhaware conducted a meticulous review of the budget’s key pillars, elucidating complex fiscal measures with academic clarity and contemporary relevance. He deciphered nuanced aspects including tax rationalization, capital expenditure priorities, and sector-specific allocations impacting agriculture, infrastructure, and digital economy initiatives. The session emphasized the budget’s alignment with India’s long-term growth trajectory and its implications for monetary policy coordination. Students gained valuable insights into revenue-neutral rates, fiscal deficit management, and the strategic shift towards capital-intensive public spending. Dr. Bhaware also highlighted gender budgeting initiatives and green finance allocations, connecting macroeconomic decisions to grassroots development. Guidance Workshop on MH-CET MBA Admissions and Higher Education Transition




St. Vincent College successfully organized an insightful guidance workshop on 11th February , 2026, to support students aspiring for MBA admissions through the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH-CET). The session, commencing at 10:00 a.m., featured distinguished resource persons Dr. Lionel John D’mello and Dr. Sheena Abraham from Poona Institute of Management Sciences and Entrepreneurship (PIMSE), Poona College Campus. Beyond facilitating form-filling assistance, the experts provided comprehensive guidance on navigating the critical transition from undergraduate studies to postgraduate management education. They addressed academic preparedness, skill development expectations, and the evolving demands of business education in contemporary India. The resource persons also demystified MBA entrance examinations, offering strategic insights into MH-CET’s exam pattern, sectional weightage, time management techniques, and effective preparation methodologies. Students received personalized counselling on aligning their career aspirations with suitable specializations and institutions. The workshop further highlighted significant financial support mechanisms available under Government of Maharashtra schemes, including Minority Scholarships (up to ₹1,00,000), Girls Freeship, EBC scholarships, and category-specific aids for SC/ST/OBC/NT/VJ candidates. A notable emphasis was placed on the highly subsidized fee structure of ₹15,000 per annum for female students from Maharashtra pursuing MBA at Pune University-affiliated colleges. The interactive session empowered attendees with clarity on documentation protocols, eligibility criteria, and scholarship disbursement procedures.
