Inauguration and Enrolment of the NCC Unit

St. Vincent College, Pune, successfully conducted its inaugural NCC enrolment and selection process on November 8, 2025, under the supervision of Dr. Yogesh Mate, the newly appointed NCC Officer. This milestone event marked the college’s official entry into the National Cadet Corps, following the formal allotment of 50 cadet vacancies for the 2025–26 training year.

The rigorous selection process included physical tests (running, pull-ups, and push-ups), a written examination, and an interview, assessing both physical fitness and aptitude. Over 70 students participated enthusiastically, reflecting strong campus interest in disciplined leadership and civic service.

The process adhered strictly to NCC guidelines, ensuring 40% female (Senior Wing) and 60% male (Senior Division) representation. With enrolment now underway, the college looks forward to instilling values of discipline, unity, and national service among students through its newly formed NCC unit.


International Seminar on Sustainability

On 7th November 2025, St. Vincent College, Pune, hosted Dr Alison Ashby, Senior Lecturer in Management and Computer Science at the University of Exeter Business School, for an international seminar on sustainability. A specialist in responsible innovation, digital ethics, and sustainable business transformation, Dr Ashby emphasized integrating sustainability as a living philosophy—embedded in decision-making, pedagogy, and campus operations—rather than treating it as mere compliance. Drawing on her work with the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) and sustainability initiatives at Exeter, she showcased how digital tools can support ethical accountability and ecological resilience. The session sparked discussion on curriculum redesign, carbon-conscious computing, and leadership in fostering cultures of care, aligning closely with the college’s commitment to the Ignatian pedagogical paradigm and social-environmental responsibility.


100 People Project.

On 8th November 2025, the AICUF Unit of St. Vincent College, Pune visited Prem Niwas—the Home for the Aged—as part of its “100 People Project.” The program began at 10:45 a.m. with a prayer led by Br. Amar, followed by a celebration of resident Samson’s birthday, including cake-cutting and an action song that engaged the elders. A lively game of “Passing the Parcel” with live guitar music, along with the distribution of fruits and biscuits, brought joy to the gathering. Mr. Sabastian Fatardo, Chairman of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVP), which operates Prem Niwas, shared insights into the home’s mission, currently serving 14 elderly women with plans to include male residents, and highlighted outreach efforts like providing wheelchairs and medical beds. The visit reflected AICUF’s commitment to compassionate, person-centred service.


Celebration of Secularism: Interreligious dialogue and intercultural exchange through Diwali and Guru Nanak Jayanti celebrations in association with Lokayat

On the evening of 9th November 2025, St. Vincent College’s AICUF Unit, in collaboration with Lokayat, hosted “Celebration of Secularism” as part of the Samvidhan Jagar Abhiyan, marking Diwali and Guru Nanak Jayanti. The event featured addresses by MLA Ajit Anantrao Pawar, NCP corporator Prashant Jagtap, and a judicial representative, who spoke on civic duty, justice, and democratic engagement. Rev. Fr. Dr. Kenneth Misquitta S.J., the college’s Director, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to constitutional values and collective responsibility. The program included cultural performances—Maharashtrian music, poetry, and youth dance—and concluded with a communal meal, fostering dialogue and underscoring shared ideals of mutual respect and secular harmony.

Aditya Jadhav (M.Com) secured a gold medal at the Balaji University Boxing Tournament held from 11th to 13th November 2025—an impressive repeat performance that underscores his dedication and skill. In addition to his victory, he was honoured with the “Most Promising Boxer” award, recognizing his potential and consistent excellence in the sport.


Workshop on the Constitution of India by AICUF in association with Lokayat

St. Vincent College held a workshop on “The Constitution of India” on 13th November 2025, as part of its Constitution Day observance, organised by the AICUF Unit to promote civic awareness and constitutional values. The session was led by Mr Rushal Heena, educator, activist, and Lokayat volunteer, known for his work in inclusive education and social justice. Drawing from his experience with the Sciencify India Programme and grassroots movements on peace and gender equality, he presented the Constitution as a living document grounded in equity and moral responsibility. The workshop encouraged students to reflect on the relevance of constitutional ideals in daily life and their role as engaged citizens.


AICUF Vice Post Elections

On 13th November 2025, the AICUF Unit of St. Vincent College held elections for Vice Office Bearers. Prof. Gilbi John, AICUF Coordinator, encouraged first-year students to engage and highlighted AICUF’s growing national and international reach. Candidates for Vice-Treasurer, Vice Secretary, Vice Scribe, and Vice Media Head presented their candidacies, emphasizing collaborative service. Voting was conducted via secret ballot, and results were announced on social media: Akansha Gaikwad (Vice-Treasurer), Carolyn D’Souza (Vice Secretary), Angel Raiat (Vice Scribe), and Anahita Kasbey (unanimously elected Vice Media Head). Upcoming initiatives include outreach at Prem Niwas (8th Nov), an ordination program in Nagar (15th Nov), and Ulhas Utsav—a Christmas event for underprivileged children—in December.


PTA meeting for Junior College

On 22nd November 2025, St. Vincent College, Pune, held a Parent–Teacher Association (PTA) meeting for Junior College parents to promote academic transparency and career guidance. Rev. Fr. Dr Kenneth Misquitta, S.J., Director of the college, emphasized empathetic parenting, open dialogue, and student well-being over performance pressure, reflecting Ignatian pedagogical values.

The session included a career guidance talk by representatives from Unique Academy, Pune, who outlined diverse pathways—such as data science, cybersecurity, fintech, design, and global liberal arts—and clarified entrance requirements (CA, CMA, CFA, CS) and the importance of early skill mapping.

An open forum followed, allowing parents to discuss individual student progress with teachers, who offered personalized feedback and highlighted strengths. Parents appreciated the event’s practical insights and the college’s transparent, supportive approach.


Constitution Day Observance and Raffle Draw for Ulhas Utsav

On 26th November 2025, St. Vincent College, Pune, observed Constitution Day with a morning gathering organized by the AICUF Unit to reflect on the Constitution’s core values—justice, equality, and fraternity. The event was attended by Fr. Angelo Mascarenhas SJ (Provincial of the Pune Jesuit Province), Fr. Dr. Kenneth Misquitta SJ (College Director), and Fr. Vijay Chokar SJ (Pune AICUF State Animator). It began with a prayer and collective recitation of the Preamble. Dr Gilbi John linked constitutional principles to grassroots action, stressing the need to turn rights into lived realities for the marginalized. The program also featured a raffle draw to raise funds for Ulhas Utsav, the college’s annual Christmas outreach for children living with HIV, blending celebration with service.
