Mahatma Phule Jayanti
The college faculty and students participated in the celebrations on the occasion of Mahatma Phule Jayanti held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Phule Wada, Pune. Students from our college performed a skit highlighting the struggles that Mahatma Phule and Savitribai Phule had to face in their efforts to educate girls. The performance was well received and praised by the audience. Students also participated in a march in memory of Mahatma Phule’s work from Phule Wada, Pune till the Lighthouse Foundation, Pune.
Vachan Din (Reading Day)
On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, on 14th April 2023, the college was open from morning 7.00 a.m. till 7.00 p.m. This auspicious day was celebrated as Vachan Din to promote the importance of reading and Education. Books on the Thoughts of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, were circulated amongst the students to make them aware of his ideals and his work on social issues and the Constitution.
Environmental awareness and Global Warming Lecture by Fr. Kenneth Misquitta SJ
A lecture on the topic of “Environmental awareness and Global Warming” was delivered by Fr. (Dr.) Kenneth Misquitta SJ on 21st April 2023 for the Students of the College. The lecture was aimed at raising awareness about the importance of environmental conservation and the impact of global warming on our planet. Fr. (Dr.) Kenneth Misquitta SJ emphasized the urgency and the need for individuals and society to take responsibility for their actions and adopt sustainable practices to reduce carbon emissions. The lecture was well-received by the students, who showed a keen interest in learning about ways to protect the environment and combat global warming.
English Day Celebrations
To celebrate the birth anniversary of William Shakespeare (Born April 23), the college celebrated English Day on April 24, 2023. The highlight of this day in the college was an address by Guest Speaker Mr. Vivek Savle of Arihant College, Pune. He spoke on the history and the progress of the English language and the need for the youngsters to be fluent in the language considering its varied benefits.
