English Proficiency Test
The English Proficiency Test for college students was conducted with the aim of assessing and enhancing student’s language skills. The test attracted participation from students across various classes. The test comprised sections focusing on reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and writing proficiency. The questions were designed to evaluate students’ understanding of English language, fundamentals and their ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal forms. On the basis of the test, students are categorized as slow learners, intermediate learners, and advanced learners. Intensive training was given for a period of 15 days from July 3rd to July 20th 2023 to enhance the language skills and personality of the student
Ecology Workshop at Desur Karnataka
The Jesuit higher Education Association of South Asia – West zone, organized a workshop on being an eco-warrior, in Desur, Belgaum in Karnataka from 12th July 2023 to 14th July 2023. The program saw the participation of seven different Jesuit institutes from Maharashtra, Karnataka and Goa. A total of 40 participants including 4 participants from St. Vincent’s attended the 3-day workshop. The four participants included students from the S.Y.B.Com and a faculty; Prof Yogesh Mate. The workshop gave the participants an overview of the environmental issues and its intricacies on the first day, touching topics such as biodiversity and eco-spirituality. The second day involved excursion to different sites which had been transformed through watershed management. The last day of the workshop ended with the participants planting tree saplings.
Arrival of the Relics of St. John Paul II at St. Vincent College
On 17th of July 2023 the relics belonging to St. John Paul II arrived atSt. Vincent College. St John Paul is known for his efforts to promote greater understanding between different countries and faiths, he also campaigned against political oppression, violence, and materialism. The arrival of the relics in the college sparked a surge of devotees at the Chapel in the college. Encased in a reliquary, the relics, which included a tunic worn by the Pope were displayed for veneration. Throughout the day, a steady stream of faithful students offered prayers and reverently touched the reliquary, seeking the saint’s intercession and reflecting on his life of service. The presence of the relics fostered a spirit of unity and piety, reminding those present of St. John Paul II’s enduring legacy.
