Admission of foreign students to the college.
On 14th June two international students were admitted to the college for the first time in 50 years. This enrollment was possible because of the necessary permissions and processes done by The Director Fr. Kenneth Misquitta, the Principal Dr. Anil Adsule and the faculty members.
IQAC Meeting
The IQAC Meetings are held 4 times in a year. In the IQAC meeting held on 15th of June 2024, by the IQAC coordinator Dr. Gilbi John, a review and account of all the concerned areas was taken. An assessment was taken of the academic activities, research, student and staff development measures, MOU’s and agreements and the development of infrastructure.
International Yoga Day
The college observed International Yoga Day on 21st June with a special workshop conducted by renowned yoga instructor Dr. Kulkarni, who spoke on the importance of yoga in maintaining a healthy body and balanced mind. 75 Students participated in the inaugural function. In his talk, Dr. Kulkarni highlighted how yoga can improve physical health, reduce stress, and enhance concentration. He emphasized that practicing yoga regularly leads to a harmonious lifestyle and improved overall well-being. Dr. Anil Adsule Principal, St. Vincent College, Pune felicitated Dr. Kulkarni and Dr. Gilbi John expressed gratitude to Dr. Kulkarni on behalf of the management, staff and students.
Certificate course in Dance and Drama.
The course began on 22nd June and continued till the end of august. For the course the college hired two choreographers. Mangla Guar, Lavni, South Indian, Gondhal, Punjabi, Warli, Garba, Powada, Nepali and Koli dances were taught to the students. These courses will help the students to hone their talents and will be particularly helpful to them in participating in different competitions.
Rajashree Shahu Maharaj Jayanti
The college honoured Rajashree Shahu Maharaj’s birth anniversary on 26th June with talks on his visionary reforms and the promotion of social equality, particularly his efforts in education and affirmative action for the marginalized communities. The themed reading day for the Jayanti showcased literature on his progressive policies, with an emphasis on his support for women’s education, the upliftment of backward classes, and his significant role in shaping modern Maharashtra’s social fabric. The Principal Dr. Anil Adsule delivered a speech on the work and life of Rajashree Shahu Maharaj. This was followed by a discussion session where inquisitive students sought to know more about his life and work and the relevance of his ideas today in context of social justice and inclusivity.
Guidance Lecture on “Careers in Accounts & Finance”.
St. Vincent College recently organized an insightful guidance lecture titled “Careers in Accounts & Finance” on 27th June for the second-year and third-year Commerce students. The session was aimed at providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the various career paths available in the field of accounting and finance. The lecture was delivered by an experienced industry professional, Mr.Vishal Gada, Co-Founder & CMO of FPA Edutech, who shared valuable insights on the dynamic nature of the finance sector. He analyzed market trends and emerging opportunities and the impact of technology on accounting and finance. He gave an overview of various career paths, including public accounting, corporate finance, investment banking, and financial planning. He advised students to acquire professional certifications such as ICAI, ICSI, CMA, CFA, CFP, CPA, ACCA etc. and gave a comparative analysis of cost, eligibility, expected industry and pay packages. Students were encouraged to consider pursuing these qualifications alongside their undergraduate studies to increase their employability. He also gave tips to select and obtain professional certifications.
