Celebration of Savitribai Phule Jayanti as Vachan Din in the college

On 3rd of January the Jayanti of Savitribai Phule was celebrated in the college as Vachan Din. Savitrbai Phule dedicated her life to breaking societal norms and championing the cause of education of girls despite all hardships and obstacles. In her memory every year the college organizes a Vachan din (Reading day) to promote learning amongst the students. Various books related to Savitribai Phule were displayed in the college and students were free to pick up any book to read. This celebration was in line with the college ideals of promoting a holistic education.

Republic day Celebrations

India celebrated its 75th Republic Day on 26th January 2024. The event commenced with hoisting of the national flag followed by a speech by the principal and the director of the college. In their speech they highlighted the significance of the day reminding the younger generation about the sacrifices and contributions of freedom fighters. The speeches were followed by cultural performances.

NIIT Skill Development Program for College Students

St. Vincent college in collaboration with NIIT, an established name in skill development, launched a free-of-cost program catering specifically to the college students. This initiative aimed at imparting communication, soft skills and essential IT literacy amongst the students to make them capable for the job market. At the end of their courses the students were assessed and received certifications. Resource persons from NIIT came to the college campus with a mobile teaching platform i.e the NIIT bus to teach the students. This training went on for a duration of roughly a month.  Some of the courses that were offered include Logistics Management. typing and MS office.

ASEZ Seminar

The Seminar on crime prevention for students was organized to raise awareness among young people about the importance of safety and security in their communities. By understanding the various aspects of crime and adopting proactive measures, students can play a vital role in preventing and addressing issues of safety and security in their everyday lives. 

This seminar was jointly organized by ASEZ along with AICUF of St. Vincent College, Pune on 31 January. ASEZ is a group of university student volunteers from the Church of God, who aspire to solve practical problems around the world caused by natural and manmade calamities like earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, terrorist attacks, wars and climatic catastrophic caused by climate change.
