Industrial Visit to WS Bakers
An Industrial visit was organized to the main manufacturing unit of WS Bakers located in Wagholi, Pune for the students of commerce stream by Dr. Franklin Salvi on 10th of February 2024. The visit showed the students, the manufacturing processes of different cakes, confectionaries, snacks and pastries. The hosts were kind enough to demonstrated the making and icing process of a couple of cakes exclusively for the students. The visit also showed the students the importance of factory layout, supply chain mechanisms, distribution networks, logistics, costs and product and raw material wastage mitigation mechanisms. A total of 20 students and 2 faculty members participated in the visit.




River Cleaning Project – Mula Mutha River near Yerawada
The Mutha River is a river in western Maharashtra flowing through the city of Pune. A cleaning drive was organized on 11th February 2024 with the objective of addressing environmental degradation and promoting community involvement in preserving and cleaning of river systems. The cleaning drive was preceded by a lecture delivered in the college on 9th February 2024, detailing the plan of action and general awareness about river systems. The drive brought together volunteers, environmental organizations, local authorities, and concerned citizens to participate in a collective effort to clean up the river and its surrounding areas. The river cleaning drive was a resounding success, thanks to the collective efforts and enthusiasm of volunteers of Lokayat, St. Vincent College students and PMC workers. By coming together to clean up the river and raise awareness about environmental conservation, the community demonstrated its commitment to social responsibilities. Discussion on Union Budget
The Union Budget of India is an annual financial statement presented by the Government of India in Parliament. It outlines the government’s revenue and expenditure for the upcoming fiscal year, which runs from April 1st to March 31st. The budget not only allocates funds for various sectors but also serves as a policy document indicating the government’s economic priorities and objectives. An interim budget was presented on Feb 1, 2024 for the fiscal year 2024-25 by the Finance Minister in Parliament. The lecture was conducted on 12th February 2024. The speaker of the lecture was Pranit Jain, of Ambition Solutions, Mumbai. Some of the areas that he discussed on the Union Budget include Revenue and Expenditure, Fiscal Deficit, Tax Proposals, Policy Initiatives and Reforms, Infrastructure Development, Social Sector Spending, Capital Expenditure, Subsidies and Transfers, Debt Management, and Macro-Economic Outlook.


DeSafio Comfest, Christ College, Pune
The students of St. Vincent participated in an Inter-Collegiate Commerce Fest called DeSafio Comfest organized by Christ College, Department of Commerce on 16th February 2024. Through this Platform, young talents could put theory into practice by pushing themselves beyond their comfort zones. Our college students made us proud by winning 1st and 2nd prizes for the various competitions that they participated in.
There were various colleges across Pune that participated in the event organized by Christ College Pune. Mr. Anoop and team won second prize in stock market event and Mr. Siddharth and team won first prize in best management team event. Congratulations to the teams and participants.


Environmental outreach excursion
On 25th of February 2024 an environmental outreach excursion was organized by St. Vincent college. The excursion took place in Panchvati Pashan.




Ulhas Outreach Program
On the 3rd of February 2024, the AICUF team from St. Vincent’s College organised an outreach program for the children of Jeevdaan Care Centre. The program was graced by the presence of Fr. Vijay Chokar and Fr. Kenneth Misquita. The event went well with entertainment for all who were present through different dances, songs and activities like small action songs, art and craft and a few games like Anthakshree. The event not only catered to the children but also the few parents who were present with them. Overall, the program was a success with both the children and our own volunteers having a good time of learning and fun.
