On 1st October 2024, the Commerce Department of St. Vincent College organized a guest lecture on the topic “AI in Finance”, designed to provide students with an understanding of the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the financial sector. The session highlighted how AI is revolutionizing finance-related industries by automating processes, enhancing decision-making, and driving innovation. The lecture also addressed how AI empowers businesses to analyze large volumes of data in real time, enabling quicker and more informed decision-making.
Cleanliness Drive and Rally Organized by the NSS Department of St. Vincent College




On 1st October 2024, the NSS department of St. Vincent College organized a Cleanliness Drive and Awareness Rally, commemorating Gandhi Jayanti and aligning with the spirit of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The event aimed to foster a sense of social responsibility and civic awareness among students by encouraging them to actively participate in creating a cleaner and healthier environment.
AICUF Webinar Youth and Gender equality with reference to safety of women in India


A webinar was conducted and arranged by AICUF teams of St. Vincent’s College, Pune and the Mumbai division, talking about the representation of women as well as talking about their struggles in a male dominated society.
Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations
On 2nd October 2024, St. Vincent College celebrated Gandhi Jayanti, commemorating the 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. The event aimed to honor Gandhi’s values of non-violence, truth, simplicity, and self-discipline, and encourage students to integrate these principles into their lives. The celebrations included a themed reading day and a special address by the Principal.
Research Competition “Aavishkar”




The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of St. Vincent College organized a Research Competition on 3rd October 2024, aimed at fostering innovation, creativity, and business acumen among students. The event provided a platform for students to present unique business ideas through presentations and posters, encouraging them to think entrepreneurially and develop solutions to real-world challenges.
The competition featured Dr. Kaptan from Pune University as the resource person, whose expertise in entrepreneurship and business development guided the students throughout the event.
Garba Workshop



On 7th October St. Vincent College organized a vibrant Garba Workshop to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Gujarat and promote community bonding through dance. The event aimed to introduce students to Garba, a traditional folk dance form, while also offering them a platform for self-expression, fitness, and enjoyment. The workshop was well-received by students and faculty, fostering an atmosphere of celebration, joy, and cultural learning.
Origami and Paper Art workshop
St. Vincent College organized an engaging and creative Origami and Paper Art Workshop on 11th October 2024, conducted by the renowned artist Mr. Ramesh. The workshop provided a unique opportunity for students to explore the intricate art of paper folding and develop their artistic skills.
The session began with an introduction to the history and significance of origami, followed by a live demonstration of basic techniques, such as folds, creases, and patterns. Mr. Ramesh skillfully guided participants through the creation of various paper models, including animals, flowers, and geometric shapes.
The workshop emphasized the importance of patience, precision, and creativity in mastering the art of origami. It also highlighted the environmental benefits of paper art by promoting the use of recycled materials and sustainable practices in crafting.
Agro Tourism workshop




On 14th of October 2024, St. Vincent College organized an exciting one-day trip to Meher Retreat, a renowned agro-tourism resort located near Pune. The trip was designed to provide students with a refreshing break from academic routines and offer them an opportunity to experience rural life, sustainable farming practices, and eco-friendly agro-tourism.
93rd Birth Anniversary Celebration of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam




On 15th October 2024, St. Vincent College celebrated the 93rd birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, honoring the life, vision, and teachings of the renowned scientist, educationist, and former President of India. The event aimed to inspire students to imbibe Dr. Kalam’s values of integrity, dedication, and scientific temperament. The celebration included a special speech by the Principal and a themed reading day focusing on Dr. Kalam’s writings and ideas.
Three-Day Lecture Series: “AI Fluency”
The Department of Commerce at St. Vincent College successfully conducted a three-day lecture series on “AI Fluency” from 1st to 3rd October 2024. The series was designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its application in business and financial domains, equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to navigate the rapidly evolving technological landscape.

St. Vincent College, in collaboration with Snehsadan Institute for the Study of Religion, successfully organized an online lecture on the topic “What is the importance given to nature or the earth in my religion?” The event took place on Saturday, 19th October 2024, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM IST via Zoom. The guest speaker was Prof. Penna Madhusudan, a distinguished scholar and former Vice-Chancellor of KKS University, renowned for his contributions to religious and ecological studies.
Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between TNS and St. Vincent College

On 23rd October 2024, St. Vincent College entered into a significant partnership with TNS by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at enhancing the professional and technical skills of its students. This collaboration focuses on providing specialized training and career development opportunities to prepare students for the competitive job market.
Under the terms of the MOU, TNS will offer comprehensive training programs in Power BI, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Microsoft Excel, and Personality Development. These programs are designed to equip students with in-demand technical skills and improve their interpersonal and professional competencies.
Diwali Celebrations and competitions






On 26th October 2024, St. Vincent College came alive with festive joy and creativity as it organized a vibrant series of Diwali-themed programs and competitions to celebrate the spirit of the festival. The event aimed to promote cultural diversity, creativity, and environmental consciousness among students while providing them with an opportunity to showcase their artistic skills.
The celebrations featured a variety of activities, including mehendi art, rangoli, diya and lantern making, dress competitions of Diwali characters, wealth-out-of-waste projects, Diwali paintings, natural flower decorations, and a sweets-making session. The day was filled with color, fun, and festive cheer, with enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff.

An enlightening Online Interreligious Talk on the topic “What is the importance given to nature or the earth in my religion?” was held on Saturday, 26th October 2024, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM IST via Zoom. The session featured Mr. Micah Joseph, a respected scholar of Judaism, who provided profound insights into the Jewish perspective on the relationship between humanity and the natural world.
Cultural celebration on occasion of Diwali




On the 28th of October 2024, the auditorium of St. Vincent College turned into a vibrant hub of culture, color, and joy as students came together to celebrate the Festival of Lights. A highlight of the evening was the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the college principal and faculty members. The event was a magnificent showcase of India’s diversity and unity, brought alive through music, dance, and tradition.

On Tuesday, 29th October 2024, St. Vincent College hosted an Online Interreligious Talk on the topic “What is the Importance Given to Nature or the Earth in My Religion?” The session, held via Zoom from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, featured Mr. N.P.S. Bakshi, who provided insights into the Sikh perspective on the topic.
